Sustainable clothing for underprivileged families

Many underprivileged families are receiving donated clothing or buying brand new cheap clothing, and we all know that the cheaper the clothing are the more unsustainable -- toxic waste and cheap labors produced by the unregulated factories in third world countries. It is a vicious cycle, as the environment and climate have become worse, the most impacted group of people will be those who are living in poverty.

However, many of these people do not have the knowledge or means to live sustainably.

HOW COULD ONE TALK ABOUT SUSTAINABLITY WHEN THERE ARE TWO CRYING BABIES WAITING TO BE FED AND GRANDPA IS ILL WHILE THE BANK BALANCE IS JUST SO LOW?!!! (Try to say this in John Oliver's way, wink)

Therefore, EGM aims to break this vicious cycle by raising the awareness of sustainability among the underprivileged families via the distribution of quality preloved clothing. BUT we can't do this without your help.

We need to break the typical impression of the society that only the poor are wearing preloved -- which is definitely not the case in western countries and Japan. Question, why can't we do this in Singapore?

We need to lead by example.

EGM encourages every of you to actively listen to people around you, should you discover any of them/Charity Organizations are in need of babies/kids stuff, you can make purchase from Ellie's Green Mart (look out for less branded items for better affordability, or use sort function: Price Low to High), and we can help you to deliver, FOR FREE. No questions asked.*

*Minimum S$30 spending for each purchase, choose "You Donate, We Deliver" upon check out.
